Twist the bottom of the tube to push the bar up about 1/8". Glide the exposed end across dry skin — the heat of your skin melts a thin layer onto the surface. Rub in with your fingers. Reapply as needed. Push the bar back down a touch and replace the cap between uses to keep the surface clean. A little goes a long way; start with a small pass over the back of your hand before using on a larger area.
