This is the ultimate zero-waste pot scrubber: a long wooden handle paired with replaceable scrub heads. The sturdy sisal bristles power through even the toughest baked-on food, and when the bristles wear out you swap the head instead of tossing the whole brush.

It comes with one brush head, and refills are easy and inexpensive, so you can keep the same handle going for years.

Good little brush but could be slightly improved

This is not a very big brush. The “long handle” pot brush is actually shorter than the modular dish brush. The handle is much thinner than I expected, and while it’s still surprisingly comfortable and okay to hold, it would be nicer if it were a slightly larger diameter. (Banana for scale)

Even for pots, the completely straight design makes it extremely difficult to thoroughly clean all areas of the bottom of a pot (or bowl, glass, etc). Luckily, I was able to carefully bend the metal head holder using a couple pairs of pliers to avoid stressing the wood/metal connection and give the brush a more satisfactory angle. Now that the angle is fixed, the brush works well and the bristles provide a pleasing texture to scrubbing. The replaceable heads are great, and I’m looking forward to using less plastic and having less waste due to keeping half the brush when the bristles are too far gone to use anymore.

Very nice brush

I like the long handle, angle of brush works well with scrubbing.
Love the idea that the brush is replaceable.

Almost perfect!

This brush works great! The only thing that would make it better is if the brush part was angled upwards some. That would make it easier to clean some surfaces. Otherwise great!

Great scrubber, ergonomics would be appreciated.

Love, love the scrubbing ability of this brush. It gets all the stuck on bits. The replaceable scrubber is going to align perfectly with our values, but I just wish the handle wasn't so straight. If it had a little curve to it then it would be more ergonomic and easier to use. In fact, it would allow the scrubber head to be in full contact with the surface of any pot or pan you need to lower the brush into from an angle rather than just one side of it. Overall, I'm still very happy and will always go Zero Waste.

great on all dishes

I love that I can use this on all my dishes to get the stuck on food off without a worry of scratching the surface.

Great

The brush is really well designed the only thing is the standard head bristles are sometimes too soft, so I definitely recommend the heavy duty replacement head!

GREAT DURABLE FIRM SCRUB HEAD

Really strong scrubber keeps its shape I use it everyday , I have a heavy duty scrub head haven’t used yet but the standard one is really good already no bristles has fallen off yet —— better than plastic junk one I had ,, I keep it by the window ledge after use so it drys up quickly
( So no molds ) nothing yet that I see

Gets the job done!

Been using this brush to do dishes for around 2 months, it works great. The bristles have held up nicely. My only minor complaint with this brush is that it’s a little hard to properly clean the corners of some dishes or the bottom of a cup due to the angle of the brush… you still can it just takes a bit more effort.
Love that the heads are compostable when you need to replace them.

Great brush and great company

Our old plastic IKEA brush with the rubber suction cup on the end finally flattened out too much to be of any use for dishes, so the hunt for a new, non-plastic sustainable alternative that didn’t require a second mortgage on the house was on! There were several companies selling a brush like this, but I’m so pleased I went with Zero Waste Outlet. They shipped the order practically 5 minutes after I received the order confirmation email, the shipping components and the packaging were all truly plastic-free, and the personal little note inside was sweet. I was happy to know I was supporting a small family-owned business.
The brush and handle are top quality, and we love that we can get replacement heads (and compost the used ones!) when needed. The only suggestion I have for improvement is the thickness of the handle - my boyfriend says it is like trying to scrub dishes with a pencil in his man hands. We are trying to figure out a way to bulk up the handle a bit (I certainly don’t want to provide him any excuses for not doing the dishes!).

Mold issues.

This is the second of these bamboo brushes I've tried from here and both times exposure to water during routine dishwashing has caused the base where the bristles meet to discolor and mold. The brushes have not been submerged or left to sit in water at any time, and are always tapped dry and set on the counter after every use. I'm surprised no one else has had these troubles, reading the other lower reviews.

Hey N.H.,

Sorry to hear about your issues with your brush! Mold issues can be frustrating, and one of the reasons plastic is so poppular. Natural materials will return to the earth eventually, but it sounds like your experience has been accelerated due to a common factor that both your brushes have.

It is not common for this brush to mold as there is plenty of room for air to flow around the bristles. Air flow is the main factor when mold is present. Without air flow, dampness will start the start the process of returning to the earth, just like in a compost pile. It sounds like you did everything right with letting it dry, so there must be another factor that we're missing.

We would love to learn more about the factors involved so we can understand why this happened and how to prevent it. Please contact us via email for a free replacement or a refund. We cannot see your order info from the review program, but we would love the chance to make it right and learn more about your issue!

Bamboo Dish Brushes and Replacement Heads

Love these products. Shipped quickly and not in plastic envelope/bag. The best I could find locally had plastic handles with natural bristles. No plastics in these products. Also, had a question and the response time was fantastic. Will be shopping at ZWO again.

Great products/great mission

I purchased this product along with the cup brush and handheld brush and I am super happy with all 3! They work just as well as any plastic dish brushes I’ve used and they’re better for the planet. Really happy to have found zero waste outlet. I’m always looking for affordable, practical swaps for plastic products and this website really hit that mark for me!

Works well

I am happy with this brush. I appreciate the wood handle, both for the feel and the sustainability. The brush works well. And my children love using it, so I'm getting more help with dishwashing!

It’s hard to use and the odd handl/brush size makes it difficult to put enough pressure on anything to scrub. Love the dish soap though

Didn’t even last a month

Handle broke immediately once the wood started to swell. Now we just use the head of the brush. Love the concept of zero waste. However, I can use a sponge for six months.

not the best shape

The shape of the brush does not allow me to get to the bottom of glassware and the handle is not very ergonomical.

I like how you can replace it. It dries fast and scrubs good. It makes good foam with the soap.

does the job but head is already loose

I've this style of brush before from different brands. Husband and I found a brush we really liked and have been using that for the past few years. Rising prices have made it more difficult to find in a price range that works for our budget so we thought we'd try this brush again. Unfortunately I've run into the same problem again. The wood that holds the head wire in place is already wearing down and the head is becoming too loose to use easily for dishes. I've never had a brush handle break, it's always been this problem with the wife not staying in place in the handle (and yes, we do store it in the recommended fashion). So. The brush head does the job. But I will most likely be switching back to the other design.

Less Plastic is Fantastic

I purchased a similar brush on Amazon a few years ago, but the replacement heads were twice as expensive, and quite honestly I would rather not support Amazon whenever I can.
This brush is fantastic, the standard bristles are excellent for general cleaning and the stiffer brush is wonderful for heavier scrubbing. I initially placed a small order just to try them out, and loved the experience so I plan to buy all of my future brushes from Zero Waste Outlet.

For the brush, it is a good overall length, I sort of wish the brush head was angled a little more, but that is the beauty of it, I can bend it a little to meet my personal preference. It holds the brush head firmly and I don't have to worry about it popping loose. I love it.

well made and will last as long as it is allowed to dry between use

What kind of metal is the metal piece that holds the brush head on? Mine broke and I'm trying to figure out how best to repair it.

Zero Waste Outlet

Hey AnnThea! I think it's a steel wire, similar to a coat hanger. Did it bend or break?
