Great at first, but not ideal for bar dish soap

I purchased this for the bar dish soap. This looks chic and worked great at first, but now that the soap is wearing down, the pieces are falling through the cracks and more soap is melting down and accumulating underneath the dish on the counter, which is a waste. I'm sure it'd be great for a hand or bathing bar that you pick up to use (and thus doesn't get as water logged or worn down), but I'll put this to another use (maybe for my dish sponge) and switch to a dish soap holder with a more solid base that drains into the sink.
