To use the solid soap block, just rub your brush or sponge across the bar and start washing, no bottle of detergent needed. Reach for the long-handle pot brush and the heavy-duty palm brush on pots, pans, and baked-on food, the sponges for everyday wiping and soaping, and the cup or bottle brush for glasses, mugs, and water bottles. Rest each brush on its soap dish so it can drain and dry between uses.
Rinse the brushes and sponges after each use and shake out the excess water, then stand or hang them to air-dry. Avoid letting the wooden brushes soak or go through the dishwasher, since heat and standing water can crack natural wood. Keep the soap block on its dish so it dries out between washes and lasts longer. To freshen a brush or sponge, soak it briefly in diluted white vinegar and water, then rinse and air-dry.
Your modular brush is made from bamboo and plant fibers, not plastic, so like any natural material it does best when it gets a chance to dry out. Two quick habits keep the handle going for years:
- Unscrew the head to dry. When you finish the dishes, twist the head off and let the handle and head air-dry separately. This keeps water from sitting in the threads, which is where mold likes to start.
- Vinegar if you spot mold. If you ever see dark spots at the joint, soak or scrub the threads with diluted white vinegar, rinse and let it dry.
With that little bit of care, each brush head lasts 2 months or more. When the bristles wear down, screw on a fresh head and keep using the same handle.
Our handle promise: if your handle ever reaches the end of its life, we will send you a free replacement handle with your next order.
When the sponges and brush heads wear out, compost them or bury them in the garden. Keep your modular handles in service with fresh screw-on heads so they last for years.
This kit ships with no retail packaging, just the materials needed to ship it safely. Your order may include a small paper product info card.
